The purpose of the PDP is to introduce candidates to the fundamental knowledge that underpins property development, highlighting land development, green building, practical execution of feasibility studies, cash flows, financial calculations, finance for property development, property law, health and safety, marketing of properties. Provide learners with a comprehensive foundation in property development, investment analysis, and property management, equipping them with essential skills in financial evaluation, legal compliance, and sustainable practices to support informed decision-making and effective participation in the property industry.  This objective encapsulates the course’s aim to build a strong foundational knowledge base, enabling practical and financial analysis skills essential to the property field.

On completion of the programme learners will:

• Understand the built environment and the fundamental terminology and principles of property development as a central activity of the property industry
• Understand the land development process
• Be able to execute basic feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed investments in property
• Be able to calculate and schedule property investment cash flow
• Understand valuation of existing properties
• Understand the fundamentals of financial calculations by using a financial calculator
• Understand green building technology

• Understand property economics; securing finance for property development and ownership; property trends and the marketing of properties
• Understand legal and practical imperatives of health and safety
